Once Upon A Time In Ireland
1922. Civil War Ireland. A band of Republican IRA idealists are under siege in a tidal cave carved in to the beautiful rugged wildness of the Irish Atlantic coast. Outside awaits a blood thirsty force of anti IRA/pro treaty British supported troops. A wild and beautifully captured tale in the birth of a great nation!
Director statement: I shot Once Upon A Time In Ireland along the beautiful coastline of Cork drawing inspiration from my Grandfather's life and exploits. Making this movie was a massively fulfilling experience for me and I love the wildness and raw beauty that it possesses.
Once Upon a Time in Ireland has screened at The Dublin Underground Cinema Film Festival where it won the award for Best Indie Feature Film, the Richard Harris Film Festival and The Indie Cork Film Festival. It also screened at The Chicago Irish Film Festival on Friday the 4th of March 2023.
